Between 26 and 28 September 2014 Oskar Kolberg’s Folk Lore Festival is going to be held in Warsaw. The biggest attraction for our readers will certainly be Omnia and Żywiołak concerts.

The concert will take place on 27 September in Warsaw Stodoła. It will start at 7 pm with the performance of the well-known to Polish audience band – Żywiołak. The most recognizable representative of pagan folk in our country is the only scheduled support -Omnia will play soon after it. This will be the first time that this Dutch band will play in our country. The group draws inspiration out of many regions of the world, including Brittany, Ireland and distant Afghanistan, and in the lyrics at least six different languages can be distinguished. Every lover of experiments with wide-ranging folk music will certainly find in it something for themselves. Tickets cost 60 zlotys. You can buy them at the website of Oskar Kolberg’s Folk Lore Festival.

Performance of Omnia and Żywiołak is not, of course, the only part of the festival. There also will be plenty of events taking place primarily in the Fortres of Jomsborg, Rogatka Culture Centre and the National Ethnographic Museum, which works closely with the Numinosum Foundation, the organizers of Oskar Kolberg’s Folk Lore Festival. There will be also dance and music workshops (including playing the didgeridoo), staging and concerts. Here you can find full program of Oskar Kolberg’s Folk Lore Festival.
